Therapy and Supervision

brain-mustard.png

Our clients often find their way to us because they are experiencing intense anxiety or emotional distress, they've had enough and want change. They often have an idea of what is causing their anxiety, but sometimes not, and want to just explore the roots of it so that they can move on with their lives.

Unhealed trauma can cause distress in the body and the mind. This can present as intense anxiety and stress. As an attempt to cope with distress in the body and the constant noise in our minds, our clients find that they use a range of behaviours designed to try to help you cope such as addiction, eating difficulties, reassurance seeking, keeping busy and on the go, and many many more!

Our clients come to work with us when these coping strategies become unhelpful and begin to
impact negatively on their lives, day to day, within your relationships, work, or just how you are thinking and feeling about yourself.

Who We Work With

We work with adults, adolescents, parents, leaders and organisations to teach the skills you need to begin that transformational and healing process. We believe that long term change comes about from addressing these invisible wounds, building resilience, and teaching you key psychological skills so that you can go forward and create a life that feels balanced and meaningful.

How We Do It

We offer a safe containing space to resolve and heal from trauma, anxiety and other experiences of distress that are preventing you from living laughing and loving as you want.

All our work in evidence based, which means that research has shown it is an effective model to treat the psychological difficulties our clients face. Our main model of psychological treatment is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and we draw on our experience of integrating that successfully alongside Acceptance commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Psychotherapy to ensure that your treatment is tailored to your individual needs, values and goals.

We believe that everyone has a right to live their life to the fullest, and we know how hard it can be to get there.

If you would like to talk to us about what you are struggling with and find out more about how we could help you then please get in touch with us via telephone 07745 034335 or email us at info@drlisaahmad.co.uk
